Not what you’d find on the high street.

My story

A change in personal circumstance led me to leaving my teaching career where I had been a primary school teacher for over 20 years. My outside space at home became my escape and so started my reconnection with flowers and nature. Even though I’ve always loved flowers I had never grown anything before so I embarked upon learning everything I could about growing cut flowers. I became a member of Flowers From The Farm which gave me opportunities to learn from others and go on many workshops and courses. I have now grown over 80 varieties of flowers and shrubs and gained a wealth of knowledge. However, I am always seeking to learn more and discover new flowers to add that little extra to my arrangements.

Conventional floristry training wasn’t for me , so I sought out creative florists I truly admired and have had the honour to learn from the likes of Simply By Arrangement, Bloom and Burn, Miss Pickering and Tallulah Rose Flower School and many more. I just love learning and I am always seeking new ideas and inspiration.

Grown with love, picked with care

My flowers are natural, relaxed and freshly picked and I lovingly grow as many as I can to go into my creations. I love a wonky stem, textures and wispy bits. I grow naturally, without chemicals, so when the bees, butterflies and the birds are out and about there is nowhere I’d rather be than in my cutting patch and greenhouse.

I split my time between growing and floristry so if I’m not in my cutting patch growing and cutting flowers then I am busy in my workshop preparing for weddings and making bouquets for deliveries, so this means deliveries can only take place on certain days.

My cutting patch isn’t huge in size but I really believe if we all do one small thing then larger change can happen. I try and be as sustainable as possible in all aspects of my business from growing without chemicals, to using recyclable and biodegradable wrapping, to not using floral foam.

My growing season is from Spring to Autumn. Out of season I source other local and British flowers but when that’s not possible I go to the flower market.
